What You Need to Know

A one-day course that provides a tour of the key aspects of finance and relates them to your role.  Facilitated using fun, highly interactive and motivational methodologies, including a business simulation, exercises and plenty of discussion to ensure learning is best retained.

Course content

How do business finances work!  A highly interactive business simulation that covers typical business strategic and operational decisions and links them to the financial impacts that occur as a result.  A great introduction to the topic of finance and the associated terminology

Everything you always wanted to know about finance but were afraid to ask.  Moving the learning from the simulation and relating it to more typical accounts

Business planning and creating a budget.  An introduction to the business planning process, budgeting techniques and some budgeting scenarios to work through (process driven, not a test of maths ability!)

Managing a budget and forecasting.  Reading, interpreting and using monthly management accounts to assess performance and consider appropriate operational actions to improve the results.  Includes some forecasting scenarios to see how to do this in practice

What are you going to do differently?  Personal action planning to provide you with the best opportunity to transfer your learning back to your workplace
